SSG Adrian Anglim

Adrian James Anglim, known as “Tiny” to his friends and family. Born in Michigan in 1934, Adrian attended Northern Michigan University, where he met his wife, Marilyn. They had three children before Adrian began his Army career.

Adrian served at locations including Korea, Germany, and Fort Riley before deploying to Vietnam with the 1st Infantry Division in 1966. His courage and leadership earned him two Bronze Stars, including one with the V Device, along with numerous other military honors. His family finally received the Bronze Stars in 2004 through the efforts of his former platoon leader.

Adrian also left his children a letter explaining why he chose to serve. His words reflected his belief that some people are called to protect the rights and happiness of others—a message that became part of the example he left for his children, who each went on to serve others in different ways.
