SPC David Mann

My father, David R. Mann, married the love of his life in October of 1967. He was bigger than life, a gentle giant, standing 6’7” and so looking forward to becoming a father.

He began his tour in Vietnam on April 20th, 1969 and was KIA at 20 years old, 6 weeks later, during the siege of Dak To in the central highlands during a rocket attack that hit the underground command bunker of the 15th Light Equipment company, attached to the 299th Eng Battalion and whose mission it was to hold the fire base and airstrip.

He left behind his loving wife Phyllis, 7 months pregnant with his only child, David R. Mann II. He is forever loved and missed.
