CWO3 Donovan Briley was KIA in Mogadishu, Somalia on 3 OCT 1993 He was the co-pilot of the first helicopter (Super-61) shot down by an RPG.
He was in Dco-1/160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) better known as Nightstakers. Operation Gothic Serpent/Battle at the Black Sea was made into an academy award winning movie "Black Hawk Down" There was also a book with the same title written by Mark Bowden.
CWO3 Briley is survived by his wife Sharri, their daughter Jordan and her husband Jacob along with two grandsons Isaiah and Elijah ... and another grandson due in April 2023. CWO3 Briley is also survived by three brothers - Duke, Danny and Micah.
