Alex Nauert, Director of Programs

Alex NauertAlex is responsible for the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of the Woody Williams Foundation’s Gold Star Families Memorial Monument program. Alex holds a role that is an integral part of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s programs while simultaneously improving the quality of service that the organization provides.

Alex works hand-in-hand with Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Committees, Gold Star Families, fellow founders, the Board of Directors and Advisors to develop, assess, and oversee implementation of the organization’s programs, strategy, and business development.

Alex comes from a distinguished family line of history that has served in the military - starting with his great-grandfather serving in WWI, both grandfathers serving in WWII, and his father having served 28 years in the United States Coast Guard. Alex is a combat wounded Marine Reservist with 12+ years of experience serving tours of duty in Africa, Afghanistan, Europe, and the pacific region. Alex has worked in various roles within both the nonprofit and corporate industries - including operational management, training, leadership and business development, and law enforcement capabilities.

Alex has a passion for serving others and his community. He is an Eagle Scout and holds a B.S. in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville and a Master of Business Administration from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. In addition to his involvement with the Woody Williams Foundation, Alex serves on a board of directors for various Veteran Service Organizations.
