Daniel was born in Washington DC and grew up in Arlington, VA. He was in basketball varsity team at Wakefield High School. He first joined the Army as an enlisted soldier. After 10 years he decided to go to Officer Candidate School where he went from Staff Sergeant (Promotable) to Second Lieutenant (2LT). Two years later he was promoted to 1LT.
Daniel loved the outdoors. He enjoyed cycling, rowing, rafting, fishing. He was a great husband and an amazing father to our two young boys.
Daniel did a tour in Kuwait and two tours in Iraq, 2003 and 2005. He was a Bronze star recipient.
Daniel had a knee injury during training on Dec. 14, 2012. He had a knee reconstructive surgery and died from a massive pulmonary embolism on Jan. 04, 2013 at 35 years old.
