Luke was the youngest of 3 children and the only boy. He knew from a young age that he wanted to continue the family legacy of serving in the military. He was injured when his petroleum fuel tanker hit an IED on 2 Jan 04. He was burned on 95% of his body. He died 5 Jan 04, 3 months before his reserve unit returned from their deployment.
