Mike loved God and Country. He was man enough not to leave anyone behind. He knew that freedom is never free. He believed that he could make a difference in Afghanistan. It was his third tour.
He died trying to bring God given dignity to the women of Afghanistan. He wanted them to have the right to vote, the right to have an education, the right to be recognized as a human being, made in the image and likeness of God. He believed that if we could break the power of the Imans and the drug lords, that the people would have a chance.
Freedom is never paid back, only paid forward. It is who we are, and what we do. God bless America.
While serving in Afghanistan, he asked his brother David for school supplies. The children in his remote village had never seen a ball point pen. It became the basis for a Baton Rouge radio station, WJBO, Operation "We care". They sent 3 pods of school and comfort supplies to Afghanistan to give the children a chance.
