My husband served with the USMC for over 13 years, including Vietnam where he received a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with V, and the Navy and Marine Corps Medal. He later served in the Virginia National Guard, where he was killed. Phil was one of those people who was larger than life - he could do most anything from writing music, singing, photography, and creating art, to designing homes, felling trees, building furniture. Running, fishing, volunteering, raising kids and dogs - his life was blessed.
Captain Philip S. Menagh, USMC was killed at Fort Bragg, NC while serving as a Staff Sgt in the VA National Guard. In Vietnam, he earned a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with V, and a Navy and Marine Corps Medal. He was a loving husband and father to five children. The fifth child, his namesake, was born 5 weeks after the death. He is missed every day.
