My father was shot down over North Vietnam on October 6, 1972 and remained MIA until his crash site was excavated 25 years later. It was discovered he went down with his plane and his remains were repatriated home in 2002.
His name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel W1, Line 80 and his remains reside at Arlington National Cemetery in Section 55, Marker 814.
